Frequently asked questions
Questions are a welcome starting point.
Exploring therapy can bring up questions about cost, finding the right provider, and what to expect. Here are answers to common questions about Limora PLLC and our services.
About Limora & Getting Started
What is Limora PLLC?
Limora PLLC is a telehealth therapy practice founded by April McElhenny, MSW, LCSW. We focus on compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care, affordable therapy options, and meaningful clinical learning opportunities.
Our care model includes licensed clinicians, pre-licensed clinicians, and supervised graduate student interns, depending on current availability.
How do I get started with therapy?
Start by completing our contact form or emailing hello@limoratherapy.com. Share your state, general availability, and that you’re interested in therapy.
We’ll discuss available options, fees, and next steps. Please keep your initial message general and avoid including sensitive personal or health information.
Can I talk with someone before committing?
Yes. Limora offers a free 15-minute client consultation to explore your needs, answer general questions, and discuss whether an available provider may be a good fit.
A consultation is an opportunity to explore services; it is not a therapy session.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?
No. You can reach out even if you’re unsure how to describe what you’re experiencing or what your goals might be. Your clinician can help you explore your concerns and identify a starting point.
What services does Limora offer?
Limora offers individual therapy and options for couples, family, and group therapy, depending on clinician availability and current programming. We also welcome inquiries about clinical supervision, professional consultation, and graduate clinical placements.
Fees & Affordable Care
How much does therapy at Limora cost?
Standard self-pay fees are $25 for sessions with a supervised graduate student intern, $75 for individual therapy with a pre-licensed clinician, and $150 for individual therapy with a licensed clinician. The standard couples therapy fee is $200.
Provider availability varies. Confirm your session type, length, and fee before scheduling.
Does Limora offer sliding-scale or no-cost therapy?
Sliding-scale fees and limited pro bono appointments may be available based on financial need and provider availability. Pro bono means that no session fee is charged.
If the standard fee is a barrier, please ask about available options. We can discuss affordability before you begin. A no-cost opening is not guaranteed.
Does Limora accept insurance?
Please contact us before scheduling to confirm current payment and insurance options for your specific provider and service. Do not assume a session is covered by your insurance plan.
We’re happy to discuss self-pay fees and available lower-cost options.
Our Providers & Supervised Interns
What is a Therapist Intern/Graduate Student Intern?
A Therapist Intern/Graduate Student Intern is completing clinical training as part of a graduate degree program. Interns at Limora receive ongoing, close clinical supervision and provide services within their training and approved scope.
Before therapy begins, you’ll receive information about your provider’s training status and supervision.
Who oversees Limora’s clinical services?
April McElhenny, MSW, LCSW, is Limora’s founder, clinical director, and clinical supervisor. She oversees the practice’s clinical services and internship program.
Can I ask to work with a particular provider?
Yes. You’re welcome to share a provider preference when contacting us. Placement depends on availability, clinical fit, the provider’s training, and authorization to serve clients in your location.
Online Therapy
Are sessions online or in person?
Limora currently provides therapy primarily through telehealth. Telehealth sessions take place online, allowing you to meet with your clinician from a private space. Limora will begin to offer therapy sessions in-person December 2026. All services must be scheduled in advance.
Contact us if you have questions about whether telehealth is appropriate for your needs.
Can I receive therapy from Limora in my state?
Availability depends on the state where you will be physically located during sessions and whether your assigned provider is authorized to serve clients there.
Please tell us your state when you reach out. Not every provider is available to clients in every state.
What do I need for an online session?
You’ll need a device with a camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, and a private space where you can speak without being overheard or interrupted. Headphones can help improve privacy.
Your provider will explain how to join your session and review telehealth expectations before care begins.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
The first appointment generally includes reviewing consent and confidentiality, discussing your concerns and relevant history, and beginning to identify goals together. Your clinician will also review telehealth safety information.
You’re welcome to ask questions about the process and your clinician’s approach.
How long will I need therapy?
There isn’t one timeline that fits everyone. The frequency and duration of therapy depend on your needs, goals, preferences, and clinical recommendations.
You and your clinician can discuss progress and revisit your treatment plan as care continues.
Professional Opportunities & Community Connections
Does Limora offer internships, supervision, or consultation?
We welcome inquiries about graduate clinical internships, clinical supervision, and professional consultation. Availability depends on applicable requirements, university approval where relevant, and available supervision.
Contact us to discuss your needs and whether an available arrangement meets your program or licensing requirements.
How is Limora connected to Change Creators Foundation?
